Written between 1599 and 1601. The play, set in Denmark, recounts how Prince Hamlet exacts revenge on his uncle Claudius, who has murdered Hamlet's father, the King, and then taken the throne and married Gertrude, Hamlet's mother. Based on the first ever published version of Shakespeare's play, Hamlet: first cut promises to be fase-paced Godfather type thriller which fields Red Shift's largest cast ever. Set in an errie futuristic world, this is an enthralling story of revenge, where a striking post industrial landscape of steel obelisks enhances a world which is governed by surveillance cameras and paranoia: Blade Runner meets 1984.
