Game Theory archiveGame Theory is a compelling play about the desire to win measured against the need to reconcile. Forgiveness, civility and the difference between saying something and meaning it are examined in this play in three parts, which is in turns funny, dark, disturbing and moving. Envoys from three warring factions meet to negotiate the wording of a press statement that will announce the beginning of conciliatory talks. Siblings return to their family home, partially destroyed during a civil war, each with a claim of rightful ownership. A victim, the perpetrator of the crime and an arbitrator meet under the auspices of a restorative justice scheme. In order that the victim, forced from his home during a war, can return to his community, the woman who falsely accused him of treason offers an explanation and her apology.
