Details
A celebration. A light-hearted birthday dinner party. Everything is good natured until the subject of children comes up. Audley is longing to have a baby with his long-standing partner Trudie. He is financially secure and the most successful black man he knows. At least he's not like his best friend Derrick, a ragamuffin and small time hustler and father of eight. He's hoping the birthday flowers, champagne and good company will persuade her - but Trudie has a secret and a chicken that's coming home to roost. Audley considers himself successful, even middle class, a working boy made good, but he is no stereotype, he believes in cultural diversity...until it turns up on his doorstep.
