Details
This play was one of the projects that resulted from the two-year writing residency held in Parkhurst prison by Vincent McInerney. It's based on series of first-hand accounts given to him by inmates. These unique social documents were initially reduced to dramatic monologues; and have now been further abridged and adapted as a stage play. Swinging between episodes of almost obscene comedy and shocking exposition, this drama throws into sharp relief the men and the mental attitudes associated with them and those who surrounded them, altogether unique social comment... Those who wrote the initial material are serving very long sentences for serious crimes; and these accounts give telling insights into their characters and psychology, and detail the acts that eventually brought them to this most notorious of all British Prisons. All profits to go to the NSPCC
