Details
This play sifts through clues and then pieces together the personal story of child adoption that becomes the social history of twentieth-century Greece. For Greece of the 1950s, especially, this is the complex story of those families that were given every chance and those who were given no chance at all - a history that has sadly repeated itself in many different countries. From the angle of the adopted persons, our play portrays the difficulties of being sent overseas with minimal documentation while facing a lifetime of exceedingly high expectations. The play is presented in three different languages (with English surtitles) and includes filmic components. It features a diverse cast of actors of various ages and ethnicities.
