Who was Shakespeare? And what brought his glittering career to an end? In a room above a pub in south London two men and a woman work through the night to meet a deadline in a cut-throat business. It is 1613 and the men are William Shakespeare and John Fletcher. Tenderness and danger combine in an irreverent story that imagines why Shakespeare stopped writing and left London three years before his death. The world premiere of a new play for Theatre by the Lake's 10th Anniversary Season.
