Urban civilisation on the brink of destruction - time to shuffle the post-it notes and count the paper clips. Convenience food firm middle manager Jerry pops out of a wheelie bin dressed for a day at the office with colleague Rhoda, and more pointless routine. But as tropical plants burst out of filing cabinets and wild animals take over the work place, what starts as an off-the-chart physical parody of office politics and consumerism becomes a dark ecological satire. Mankind has lost the plot and the food chain is about to change. You may never eat fast food again! European Premiere. Returning to the festival for the first time since 2006, New York’s renowned Barrow Street Theatre is pleased to present Flesh and Blood & Fish and Fowl; the world’s greatest hour of existential clowning, about life, love, office politics and survival, culminating in an unforgettable, mind-blowing showdown between a ravenous natural world and the last humans on earth.
