Szeged - Southern Hungary. Close to the Serbian border. The sound of NATO Chinooks pierces the night. Robert, a young American researcher, is fascinated by Szeged's famous synagogue and the enigmatic Black Madonna. After entering into a strange and dangerous liaison with Anna, his language teacher, Robert is drawn into an undercover world of sexual obsessions, political intrigues and shifting identities.
