Details
Poland. 1939. In Warsaw, a population of mice strive to carry on their day-to-day lives under the growing threat of the deadly feral Cats, whose only objective is to annihilate each mouse, one by one. Using masks and puppets created specifically for this performance, Cat and Mouse is a bold and unsettling visual exploration of the lives of those children who were caught up in the horror of The Final Solution. Stories, testimonies and secret diaries from those who were interned in Auschwitz, Belsen and Terezin are brought boldly to life by a cast of over fifty young people from Coventry. Be warned. This is no fairytale. Please note: Cat and Mouse is suitable for 9 years and upwards. The play contains some images that people might find disturbing. We recommend that young people under the age of 12 are accompanied by an adult or a teacher. Cat and Mouse is part of the Holocaust Memorial Day Coventry 2009 Programme of Events.
