Details
This hilarious and critically acclaimed political farce set in a working class suburb of Milan, centres on direct action by housewives against inflationary supermarket prices. Outraged, they ransack their local supermarket but must then struggle to hide their ill-gotten gains from both their trade unionist husbands and an increasing onslaught of suspicious policemen. The sight of local officials hung up in wardrobes and impossible fake pregnancies sit neatly side by side with the real dangers of unemployment and political crisis in a highly amusing, fast-moving piece from one of the modern masters of farce.
