Break the Silence archiveJuliet Stevenson invites you to hear the voices of women asylum seekers and discuss what you can do to help. This event begins with the performance of a unique play, How I Became An Asylum Seeker by Lydia Besong, the powerful true story of a woman who leaves her home in Africa to seek refuge in the UK. It is performed by the author and fellow members of Women Asylum Seekers Together Manchester, and directed by Magdalen Bartlett. The play will be followed by discussion chaired by Natasha Walter, director of Women for Refugee Women. Running time: 90mins with no interval. Suitable for ages 12+
