Details
In the closing comments of a US Army Officer in a 2005 New Yorker interview, he concludes that torturing is not a good idea because it does not give us accurate information 'and besides, you lose your soul.' But what do we mean by soul? What does it mean to be soulless? Follow this group of bumbling detectives as they search through the remnants of Western Civilisation, interrogating the creation of the individual soul throughout philosophy, religion and literature. Performed by a variety of artists using a blend of photography, music, dance and visual art, Besides You Lose Your Soul or The History of Western Civilisation creates a unique show each night, based on the company's improvisational approach to the text.
