King Shahrayer has decreed that whenever he marries the following morning his new wife must die. On her wedding night, Shahrazad?s only hope is to enchant the King with her tales of magic and adventure. Bewitched by dazzling characters like Ali Baba, Es-Sindibad the Sailor, giants, beasts, menacing ghouls, scheming thieves and birds that can talk, the King defers the execution for a thousand and one nights. Will he spare Shahrazad's life forever?
