Merle and Vivienne have spent half their lives in prison, Sandy has never set foot inside a jail before. As Sandy and Merle await sentencing, they make remarkable discoveries about each other, and slowly the most unlikely relationship develops, until Vivienne pushes all three to the very edge. Set up by two women in HMP Askham Grange in 1979, Clean Break produces theatre which provides a powerful and unique voice for women prisoners, ex-prisoners and ex-offenders.
