Details
A comedy that celebrates individual eccentricity and ingenuity. Eileen's husband George dies suddenly and she is deluged with responsibility. People keep interfering, all ensuring they know what is best for her (although their own self interests are more than evident). Eileen is desperate for some space and takes refuge in George's old shed amongst the clutter of objects useful and useless, where she chatters away to the ever-present George. Meanwhile they're all out there waiting. As the vicar tells her,
'You have to face the real world sooner or later, haven't you?' But when she does... Eileen sees the funny side in even the most desperate situation and her determination to succeed at the secret task she has set herself carries the audience joyously along with her.
