Details
On 28 May 2013, a few hundred people from very different walks of life gathered at Istanbul's Gezi Park. It was no different than the other anti-government protests happening throughout the world. People wanted to protect the trees, protest against the privatization of the public areas and neo-liberal policies legislated by the current government. It was a wake up call for a highly authoritarian government who had been constantly telling its citizens how to live their lives. SAY YOUR NAME questions the relationship between the big corporations, government and the media through the Gezi Park protests. Performed in Turkish with English surtitles. Recommended for ages 12+. Running time: 1hr 15mins with no interval.
