Details
London 1923. The Great War is over. The men have returned from the front, the women from the factories. Life is returning to normal. Longing for excitement and fun, socialite Miss Julie is throwing a midsummer party whilst her father is away. Running the house is John the Butler, a man carrying his own scars from the trenches and with ambition beyond his means. His loyal fiance, Christine, has also been changed. A determined member of the suffragette movement, she too has her own agenda for a brighter future. As the evening unfolds, what promised to be a night of celebration is consumed by a dark, forbidden journey into passion, betrayal and despair. Adapted by Jonathan Sidgwick from August Strindberg's Miss Julie.
