A Thousand Years of Christmas travels through the centuries, draws on a wide variety of music and readings, and takes in Dickensian scenes, seventeenth century frosts and the dark poetry of Ted Hughes and many others. Also a poem written for the show by Alexander McCall Smith will be premiered.
