The story follows Mary Carpenter, the educational and social welfare reformer of Bristol. Mary founded ragged schools and reformatories for the street children of Bristol. She was also active in the abolition of slavery and worked at bringing female education to India. Our tale focuses on her profound relationship with Bristol, its street children and her campaigning against the influential members of society.
