Lorca's evocative tale of feuding families transposed from the sombre Andalusian back country to the farming communities of the Yorkshire dales. Adapted from Lorca's Blood Wedding. When Leonard returns from fighting in the Spanish Civil War he discovers his childhood sweetheart about to marry an old rival. Tradition demands grim faced acceptance but Leonard, fuelled by the hot blood of Spain, will not let it lie. Between flamenco dancing sheep, hay making and throwing hay makers, and with the Dairy Maid of Doom forever lurking by the Cowshed of Calamity, the wedding celebrations turn from farce into tragedy.
