Following the success of last year's first ?Voice of the Violin', Grammy-nominated soloist Peter Sheppard Sk?rved explores the violin in the 18th and 19th Centuries. The virtuosi and their music reflected the turmoil of the Romantic age. Viotti played for Marie Antoinette, Paganini sent audiences wild on his first visit to London, Ole Bull narrowly escaped a steamship wreck, saving just his violins. Ben Hebbert, acclaimed for his insights into the great violins, introduces instruments from the period.
