Tapping into tales of modern and Ancient Greece, shunt will use the contemporary resonance of the Minotaur myth to map out a labyrinth in a South East London warehouse. In the custard halls of the Biscuit Factory in Bermondsey, the walls are smeared with history: the history of mass producing biscuits. Shunt have taken the extraordinary liberty to extend this history to ancient Greece. This wildly disorientating performance chases the tail of myths, memory and misanthropy; and the vague hope that amongst you there might also be a hero. shunt are a collective of artists creating and curating live performance in unusual locations within London. They aim to challenge the model of the single author. Past projects include Money at Bermondsey Street Warehouse, Tropicana and Amato Saltone at London Bridge Vaults, and The Ballad of Bobby Francois and Dance Bear Dance at the Bethnal Green Arches alongside the legendary shunt lounge at London Bridge. Shunt have been awarded the Total Theatre Award in 2000, the Time Out Live Award in 2003, and the Peter Brook Empty Space Award in 2003 and 2005. Running time: 90mins approx. Suitable for ages 16+
