How do we respond to images of our world? To places we've never been, to people we've never seen? Can we feel the pain of others? Or do we choose not to? This new, devised show, created with the 16-25 age group in the award-winning Bristol Old Vic Young Company (Children of Killers, The National Theatre 2011, The Grandfathers, The National Theatre 2012), asked twenty young people to create and interact with their own exhibition of the world today. Inspired by press photography, journalism and news reporting, the pictures in their gallery include the inspirational, the mundane, the uplifting and the distressing. Each picture has been presented by a performer, and through speech and physical theatre, together they will take a stand for the pictures that move, provoke and drive them.
