The monthly gay-friendly giggle-fest returns to Komedia for a Pride special, with guest compere Cathy P taking the reins. Kandi Kane Baxter is the comic creation of Charlie Hides. A super bitch for the new millennium who has become rich by marrying a string of 80 year-old millionaires. An established Fringe Performer that has been headlining in the UK for several years, Kandi is currently married to Reginald Baxter, heir to the Baxter's Soup fortune. With no children (but she’s currently thinking of adopting a Bosnian or Philippino baby), Kandi and Reginald live in Buckinghamshire with two dogs, six nurses, a lawyer and a manager, an agent and a chef...! Famed for unofficially opening the Edinburgh branch of Harvey Nichols back in 2002 (she camped outside in a tent to ensure she was first in!), Kandi Kane is a global star, performing sell-out shows around the world. Intelligent, original, magical, spontaneous and warm - just some of the words used to describe funny woman Debra Jane Appleby, a no-nonsense Yorkshire lass, blunt and sarcastic in a take-it-or-leave-it kind of way. She has appeared on stage and screen, and is winner of both The Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Funny Women Comedy Award in 2005. Quirky and individual, Shelagh Martin delivers a succession of crafted one-liners, often surreal, sometimes brilliant and frequently involving bizarre mental images of animals.
