Details
Three Tales is a thrilling new work inspired by the technological advances of the 20th century. Three individual acts form a progressive investigation of the way technology creates and frames our experience. The result is a richly woven fabric of sound and image, unlike any music theatre piece you have experienced before. Hindenburg concerns itself with the famous zeppelin that exploded in 1937; Bikini deals with the atom bomb tests at Bikini Atoll and Dolly focuses on the impact of genetic cloning and takes its name from the most famous sheep in history. Reich’s singular musical imagination coupled with Korot’s innovative video artistry result in what is arguably the first truly 21st century opera.
