Details
First performed in 1923 and scored for four vocal soloists, chorus, and percussion orchestra (including four virtuoso pianists), this astonishing piece looks at the rituals and preparations involved in the handing over of the birde in a traditional Russian Wedding. Here the stage will be handed over to actors and dancers from the community of Salford who will re-tell the story as seen through their own eyes. This performance, the result of a community project brings together community volunteers with a professional cast from the Royal Northern College of Music.
