A street opera for brass band and three singers adapted from The Ring Cycle by Richard Wagner. What sort of crazy theatre programmers would give a bunch of irreverent French musicians, a brass band no less, carte blanche and 90 minutes with one of the 19th century s most controversial works of classical music? BITE would. So captivated were we by The Bellboys interpretation of The Tragic Flute (BITE:00) that we commissioned them to give some BITE flavour to all the Wagner activity this summer. The Bellboys have risen to the challenge and with oodles of cheeky style and humour they will be presenting their condensed Ring Cycle for all ages and stages in the Barbican foyers.
