Details

A spanich nobelman, Solano, is in search of the fountain of youth. He is becalmed at sea and summons the winds but the resulting storm wrecks his boat and only he survives - washed up on the shores of Florida where an Indian chief arranges for Watawa to take him to a seer. But she is determined to revenge the death of her kin at the hands of white man but as they progress they fall for each other. The seer warns that if you drink "unprepared" from the fountain you die and that he prepared himself for fifty years. But Watawa drinks and dies leaving Solano to drink and follow her. British stage premiere.
