Details

Matrinu's last major work and only tragic opera. Based on the book by Nikos Kazantzakis, Christ Recrucified. A group of Greek villagers perform a passion play and slowly grow into the roles that they are portraying leading to a clash with a group of dispossessed refugees. A co-production with the Bregenz Festival. Sung in English with surtitles (surtitles only available from some seats - please check when booking). Running time 2 hours 40 mins.
