Details

This is the first of a series of contemporary operas to be performed on barges and/or boats on the River Thames. The Fleeting Opera will take place on four barges that will act as moving stages travelling back and forth across the Thames during the performance with the audience watching from the riverside path and terrace of Battersea Park. Up to ten performers ranged across the barges will interact across the water in a production including live music, a pre-recorded soundtrack, singing, dance, sculpture and lighting. Choreographed by Royal Ballet dancer Tom Sapsofrd the company also includes other dancers from The Royal Ballet and musicians and singers from The Orchestra and The Chorus and of the Royal Opera House.
