Details
The Eternity Man is an historic character from Sydney urban folklore. An ex-petty criminal, ex-alcoholic, ex-gambling hobo, he converted to Christianity and spent the next 37 years writing his one-word sermon - the single word "Eternity" - across over half a million surfaces in the capital and elsewhere. This is the second collaboration of Jonathan Mills and poet Dorothy Porter, whose first opera The Ghost Wife was premiered as part of the Barbican's BITE series.
