A character torn between the conventional and the visionary. A wilful, hard working fisherman wanting to earn respect but cast out after the suspicious death of his apprentice. And then a second apprentice falls to his death. ENO's appearance at Snape Maltings this summer marks the beginning of a new partnership with Aldeburgh Productions with the first ever performance of Peter Grimes in either the composer's home town or Snape Maltings. Conducted by Paul Daniel), the ENO orchestra, chorus and soloists will give a concert performance adapted from Tim Albery's original ENO staging. The performane on the 25 June will close the 53rd Aldeburgh Festival.
