After Scott's novel "The Bride of Lammermoor". The Heroine's brother tries to restore his failing fortunes by arranging his sister's marriage to a rich man - but she is in love with a man from another family with which there is a feud going on. New to ROH from Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Dusseldorf (premiere April 1999). Sung in Italian with English surtitles. Approx running time 2 hours 40 minutes. Supported by Scott and Suling Mead (Benefactor's Circle 2003)
