HMS Pinafore premiered in 1878 at the Opera Comique in London, and became Gilbert and Sullivan's first smash hit, enjoying a successful run of 571 performances. Satirising the snobbery and hypocrisy of the English social system of its day. HMS Pinafore is a comic tale of love, class pretensions and mistaken identities. Questioning the integrity of the ruling elite and exposing the duplicitous motives of leaders of power, this comedy still has remarkable resonance today. This version of a G&S Classic, inventively adapted and directed by Drew Baker, with Choreography by Ewan Jones and Musical Direction by 'The Philharmonic' Terence Penk, is a delight from start to finish. Not the H.M.S. Pinafore that you are familiar but one that sizzles with campness, energy and fun. Featuring 17 of London's finest Musical Theatre actors, HMS Pinafore is uniquely performed on one of London's only floating theatres. More intimate than the capital's other venues and moored on the Thames between Battersea and Vauxhall. Join us!
