Details
Handel's 1710 opera shows the Italian influence on his work following his three and a half year stay in Italy. Claudius decrees that Otho, who has saved his life, will succeed him even though his wife Agrippina is scheming for Nero to take the throne. Agrippina uses Poppea, whom all three men admire, to set Claudius against Otho. Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
