Having already become a pigeon racer and a northern soul dancer, Victoria Melody's latest immersive quest, Major Tom, sees her explore championship dog-showing with her basset hound, whilst she competes in beauty contests. Victoria unknowingly discovered that her dog had prize-winning potential at a charity dog show and seized the opportunity to access the extraordinarily exclusive members-only sub-culture. Her dog, Major Tom's first show was a disaster, leaving Melody feeling an overpowering sense of guilt about her dog being criticised. So she decided to put herself through the same process by becoming a beauty queen. This show follows their story, reflecting on those familiar Brit fascinations with celebrities, beauty, and winning. Recommended for ages 14+. Running time: 65mins.
