Having already become a pigeon racer and a northern soul dancer, Victoria Melody's latest immersive quest, Major Tom, sees her explore championship dog-showing with her basset hound, whilst she competes in beauty contests. Victoria unknowingly discovered that her dog had prize-winning potential at a charity dog show and seized the opportunity to access the extraordinarily exclusive members-only sub-culture. Her dog, Major Tom's first show was a disaster, leaving Melody feeling an overpowering sense of guilt about her dog being criticised. So she decided to put herself through the same process by becoming a beauty queen. This show follows their story, reflecting on those familiar Brit fascinations with celebrities, beauty, and winning. Developed at BAC, The Showroom Chichester and MAKE, Ireland Supported by Arts Council England. Running time: 1hr 15mins. Age 14+
