The radio play was inspired by Robert Browning's 1855 poem Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came and Mitchell returns to some of this source material to craft a new allegory for the 21st century. Mitchell was awarded the Arts Foundation Award for his contribution to musical theatre in 2004 and also writes opera and instrumental music. He is joined by percussionist and actor Adam Clifford currently training at Jacques Le Coq in Paris and performing with the LSO and other international ensembles. Rachel Birch-Lawson brings her extensive experience of contemporary dance to this gritty piece of new music theatre. Running time: 60mins, Suitable for all ages
