Poison archiveThe music is pumping and the crowd is jumping, in a club on a North London estate rife with drugs. Inside, the tension is as high as the clubbers. The jealous club owner, Michael watches the friendship between his wife Anita, and her co-singer Lyric. Meanwhile, Poison has been betrayed by his gang and, furious about his fall from power, will stop at nothing to get revenge. Outside, rivalry between gangs threatens to erupt an any moment. This funky, explosive musical is a re-telling of the Othello story in a modern British setting.

The Sunday Times: 11Jan01: Star RatingStar Rating
Some of their street songs have a brash energy, and there are ladies in silver corsets dancing about the streaked-concrete set with lots of brio; but most of the music is little more original than the lyrics.
