Somewhere in contemporary Britain a friendly revolution snatches power from the city's leaders and delivers it to its bread-kneaders and stone masons, its sculptors and chocolate fanciers, its egg painters and flower arrangers, its blacksmiths and conjurors. All luxury flats are confiscated and all property developers called to the great hall for retraining in creative play. All supermarkets are barricaded and all chain stores closed. There are no brown signs, no information stands, no mobile phone centres, no mobile phones. And each citizen embarks on the learning of a disappearing language... A revival of Julia Darling's witty and uplifting musical play to commemorate the 10th anniversary of her death.
