Lost in the Stars archiveLost in the Stars is a stirring portrait of love, loss and life in South Africa! Based on Alan Paton's novel Cry, the Beloved Country, along with Maxwell Anderson's words, Weill's music sensitively conveys the story of racial tension in Johannesburg. Many of the show's numbers have become hits in their own right - not least among them the title-song, which has been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and many others. Kurt Weill's final - and some say greatest work - is a musical theatre piece not to be missed. Following their phenomenal London debut of Scott Joplin's Treemonisha last year, Out of Southwark return to BAC with Lost in the Stars, Kurt Weill's last work for the theatre.
