In 1936 Edward VIII chose to abdicate the throne rather than abandon his true love, Wallis Simpson. The news shattered a nation and their story has become one of the most written about and discussed events in modern British history. Between the myths and the many interpretations of events emerges a story of unimaginable poignancy and romance.
