Street Child is a heart-stopping journey through the cruel streets and alleys of Victorian London as we follow the struggles and changing fortunes of Jim Jarvis, a lonely orphan boy. Will his encounters with Grimy Nick and his vicious dog Snipe, the Workhouse, Shrimps and the Juglini Travelling Circus bring him any closer to home? Adapted from Carnegie Medal winner Berlie Doherty's novel, Street Child is a family show for ages 6+. It is based on the true account of the boy who inspired Doctor Barnardo to set up his 'Ragged Schools' and 'Cottage Homes' for orphans. Cotton Grass Theatre uses theatrical storytelling, puppetry and projection to bring this nail-biting, poignant adventure to life.
