NITRO (formerly Black Theatre Co-operative) presents NITRObeat a full day of newly commissioned work, discussions and performances that aims to push back the boundaries of Black Music Theatre. As in Ipswich, Curtis Walker will host the Nbeat-Chat-Live radio station in the foyer throughout the day as well as appearing in an evening of Black Comedy at Contact that night. Manchester based bands and performers are encouraged to bring in their demos and they'll be played on the day. Local gospel group Urban Voice will perform in the foyer too. The NITRObeat commissions play in Space One, Space Two will be the NITRObeat chill out zone with acoustic music and poetry from leading Manchester artists and in Space Three local young people can take part in DJ, MC and dance sessions, followed by an open mike session.
