Details

Blood, Sweat & Tears is the tender and powerful new work by choreographer Liv Lorent, following the extraordinary transformations a young couple undergo as they learn to cope with becoming a family. The company are joined by two new international dancers for the piece, which ranges from a duet to septet performances across 80 minutes. The duet concentrates on the extreme power and tenderness involved in caring for a newborn baby and the resulting test on the relationship between a man and a woman. Using wrestling as part of its choreographic language, the two dancers fly and fall at each others bodies as they struggle for equilibrium. Blood, Sweat and Tears is the fight for romantic love to survive in the midst of the overwhelming, unconditional love a baby demands. balletLORENT website.
