American ballerina Wendy Whelan, Principal at New York City Ballet for 30 years, and Royal Ballet Principal Dancer Edward Watson, collaborate for the first time in a newly commissioned programme. Wendy Whelan and Edward Watson are two leading lights of the ballet world. Whelan is admired for her elegant movement and intelligent approach, while Watson has won acclaim for his breathtaking physicality and the intensity he brings to dramatic roles. Each has inspired the work of a host of contemporary choreographers, and dance together for the first time in this unique collaboration. The programme includes new works from Arthur Pita (The Metamorphosis), Javier de Frutos and Quebec choreographer Dani?le Desnoyers, who choreograph for the duo. Punctuating the duets are two solos, choreographed by Arlene Phillips and Annie-B Parson. Jean-Marc Puissant creates the designs.
