An exquisite and raucous retelling of an episode from the Reamker - the Cambodian version of the Indian Ramayana epic. 30 dancers depict the age-old struggle between good and evil. Preah Ream, a man with divine abilities, is abducted by Weyreap - a giant who rules the region of Batdal under the sea. The monkey commander Hanuman sets out to rescue Preah Ream, facing a series of fantastical adventures, from battling sea creatures to transforming himself into a tiny insect. The traditional choreography and storytelling is accompanied by singers and a 'pin peat' ensemble of percussion and woodwind instruments. Suitable for all ages. 80mins/no interval
