Union Dance is renowned for its eclectic mix of contemporary dance, hip hop, martial arts and streetwise wit, communicating the world's rich cultural diversity through breathtaking movements and stunning visual effects. Tayeb Benamara's Sublime Element is a chilled-out, meditative piece of soul-centring movement, danced to a backdrop of rich visual imagery from the natural world. A haven from the hubbub of 21st Century lifestyles, the choreography is designed to create a heavenly retreat and present the perfect progression from the urban to the utopian. Michael Joseph's Celestial Dawning is in choreographic contrast to Sublime Element but at the same time a natural continuation. A dynamic piece of dance, it maximises the dancers' undeniable athleticism and ability in a series of duets, trios and company work. Celestial Dawning embraces dance forms and styles of movement as eclectic as contemporary ballet, hip-hop and martial arts - all performed with a seductive strength. Union Dance Company website.
