Details

An acclaimed innovative production from India using traditional music, modern choreography based on three classical dance forms, theatre, painting, shadow-play and audio-visual material from contemporary events. Inspired by a Western passion play, written in Europe, placed in the contemporary context and performed through Indian music, dance and theatre. 'The Child' is the only poetic work Tagore wrote originally in English. Its inspiration was extraordinary: Tagore wrote it after watching a traditional passion play in the Bavarian village of Oberammergau in 1930.
