Details
Tales of Hoffman is an enchanting, extravagant ballet which takes us on a series of whirlwind journeys from a dark tavern to the rich draperies of the salons of Venice. The poet Hoffmann awaits his latest love, the dancer La Stella, in the tavern. As he waits, his companions plead with him to tell the astonishing tales of his three great love affairs. From his dashing youth where he was hypnotised by a pretty face, to his enchantment with the artist Antonia, and to his middle-age where he becomes deduced by, but ultimately rejects, a life of sensual pleasures, we meet his loves, his enemies and the malevolent spirit that pursues him throughout his life.
